Healing Through Learning (HTL) is a mission-driven consulting practice founded by Dr. Deborah A. Cox to support individuals and organizations affected by trauma. Combining personal resilience, professional insight, and spiritual wisdom, HTL helps people reclaim their power through education, healing practices, and purpose-filled action.

At HTL, we serve schools, churches, families, nonprofits, and community groups with trauma-informed workshops, faith-integrated speaking engagements, custom resources, and emotional wellness strategies. Our vision is to make healing accessible through honest conversations, powerful tools, and supportive spaces that honor both the struggle and the comeback.

Meet Dr. Deborah Ann Cox

Dr. Deborah A. Cox is a seasoned educator, author, trauma-informed consultant, and national speaker. She holds a Doctorate in Administrative Leadership and a Master’s in special education and has spent more than two decades transforming schools, empowering staff, and advocating for trauma-sensitive approaches across educational and community systems.

Her work is rooted in lived experience as a mother, survivor, and visionary as well as in her professional history as a school principal, special education leader, and advocate for under-resourced communities.

Dr. Cox merges her expertise with faith, compassion, and authenticity. She is known for her candid, heartfelt delivery and her powerful ability to meet people where they are while guiding them toward what’s possible. Whether she’s in a boardroom, a classroom, or behind a podium, her message is always clear: Healing is possible. Learning is sacred. And we rise by walking through, not around, what has hurt us.
